hi peeps sorry to rattle ur brains....

ive got a ford escort zetec and whenever in change gear
and go up gears as in 1-2-3-4 the gear change is smooth and pleasent.
when i drop down a gear especailly from 3rd to 2nd as in 4-3-2-1 the
gear crunches..

would this represent a foooked clutch or gear box?

please help

poss 1st/2nd synchro.

 

Not enough friction in gearbox, try changing the oil, and if necessary using a thicker one.
