Default running a manual fan switch

want to run a switch in the car to turn fans on and off as i want ie aproaching traffic, what do i need to do this??will i need to get somene to do it for me??and can u do that and still have the normal fan switch so it cuts in when the car wants it to??many thanks

It is essential that you have it as automitic and manual, my old S1 didn't and it was a hassle when it went in for work.

No matter how many times you tell the garage, it guaranteed that they will forget and knacker you motor.

It is also a pain if you forget and it gets a touch hot before you realise!!!

Best to have an autoeltrician you can trust do it for you.

i agree with this there must be a easy way to over ride it so you can manually switch it on. possibly running another power supply to the fans on a switch so you can turn the fans on and off as and wen you please, and thsy should still work on the electric fan switch. if that makes any sence ha ha

Defo keep it auto, but adding an overide is childs play, with a relay and switch, any keen diy er should be able to do it easy enough.
