Default turbo xr3i

I've heard sum people talk about fitting a turbo onto xr3is. Is this true and how can it be done?

Quite easy actually. The compression ratio is ok for max 14psi of boost, less without an intercooler. The K-jetronic is ok, but preferably needs the control pressure regulator from some turbo K-jet car, like Saab 900 for instance. The actual air flow meter can also be upgraded. I've seen xr4i ones used. Distributor needs minor modification if it's wanted to be used.

you also need management, using OFAC fiesta turbo management means you can use your existing wiring loom, only needing to swap 2 wires over.

Yes, depends what model XR3i you have. Mk3, mk4, mk5 ? For mk5, forget what I said.
