since my brother in law jump started someone his fans stuck on.

after the car runs for about 10 secs there is a loudish clunk and the fan stays on permanently.

he also gets the same clunk every so often while driving

any ideas?

maybe disconect the battery and leave it for 5mins and reconnect,maybe the ecu just needs resetting?

 

Is the aircon on?

Air speed set at position "3" or above (auto aircon)?

Vent position dial pointing to windscreen (auto aircon)?

All of the above will make the dual fans run continually!

 

If the ECU has defaulted it normallys runs the fans permanently on SOME ford's, check to see if fault is logged.
