Default Mondeo, Which oil?

Hi, seems to be some confusion over which oil should go back into my mondeo, (2001, 2.0 duratec lump) garage is saying 10/40 is ok, yet a friend from here who is knowledgable is insisting it needs 5/30.

Can anyone in the know shed any light?

TIA

yeah 5w30. ford did use 10w40 originally but engines suffered sticky valves i heard so 5w30 is now recommended for the majority for zetec engines i would think.
