Default bigger exhaust bore diameter / advantages?

As above i know there are advantages from a bigger bore exhuast but wandering the limits on the sizes i'e I'm putting a turbo on my focus and am gunna make a custom one up but theres alot of bends on a focus and the thinner the easier it will be. I dont want to limit the engine or loose any power , i'm think i'm gunna go for 2 1/2 inch and i'm hoping for 250bhp will this be fine and will a 3 inch system see the power easier.

Thanks.

bigger is generally better on a turbo car.

The most power turbo cars dont run any exhaust at all.

2.5" is plenty for 250bhp.

2.5 is more than enough at that power level.

at what sort of power do you need to think about going up to 3". As i was aiming for 300bhp and was thinking of 3" is it nessasery to go that big for 300bhp?

Thanks,
Phil

2.5" is fine for 300bhp as long as you don't have really restrictive silencers.

It won't have any middle silencers just a back box so i'll go with 2.5" as well then.
Thanks for the advise,
Phil
