I’m new here but have heard great things about this forum.

Right, Basically my S2 RS Escort went into Motorsport Developments in Blackpool 2 weeks ago and had a setup etc. Everything was fine except i was told the turbo is on its way out and that’s the reason for the howling.

I went to drive it today, and as i accelerated the car started to jerk as though i was not in a high enough gear and wouldn’t boost basically, but if i drove without putting my foot down and kept below 5psi then the car was fine.

I decided to drive it for about 20minutes without the Turbo and then put my foot down again, i got to 7psi and it started jerking and backfiring and just would boost. Also the howling was a little louder than normal.

Is this the turbo shot at as described by Motorsport? I would appreciate any input to this little problem of mine.

maybe its leakin where it meets the manifold....my 5 turbo did this was really loud

 

probly a burt out spark plug mate.

 

will it not be the turbo thats dead?... like motorsport said?/

 

Basically the turbo struggles above 5psi and sounds like death lol....

then it will back fire (v.loud) and loads of smoke will come out but the car still doesnt boost anything above 5psi.......
