Default Oil Pumps

Whats the diffrence between a pinto / small turbo escos pump and a 2wd pump except the top cover and the price?

i just bought a new uprated pump for my 2wd it was about £90 more just for the top hat(cosworth)and the 4x4 pump is diffrent

I know the 4x4 pump is different, sounds to me like your answer is yes the bottom of the pump is the same but the top hat is different which I knew.
