Default escos banana pod gauges ilummination problem

bought a set of these for my escort van as already had pod ive looked on the back and there is place for two plugs a two pin and one five pin maybe six but anyway the two pin i beleive is illumination but doesnt illuminate when given a pos and neg wondered if this is a fault as bought them from fleabay any help will be great

it needs an inverter mate, normally it gets the feed from the main dash clocks as the inverter is in there.

pin 1 and 2 you need on the above diagram.

I'm just finding the website I used for the inverter....

Thats what you need mate, connect the feed to the box (cig lighter end - make sure you get the pos and neg right) to the illumination feed from one of the dash switches i.e. fog or heated rear screen (normally the top single wire on the switch) and the other to an earth.

The output end to the pins 1 & 2 on the pod (doesn't matter which way round these go as it's AC from there)

job done!!

ps. I'm assuming you have a mk5 van!!

just going to order one now thanks mate you have been a great help as i thought they were faulty will let you know how ive got on and yes its a mk5 td van
