Default S2 Main beam Failure - SORTED

ok,

My Alternator light has been on very lightly when I first start up in the mornings for like 3 secs then fades away, it's been starting fine etc, then last night went to turn my main beam on and they didn't turn on, the sidelights are fine so is Full beam, but when I turn from the sidelights to main beam they dim,and when i turn them back to sidelights they glow a little brighter, having to drive with my Full beam on last night, could both bulbs have blown at once for the main beam? loose earth? just seems strange,or maybe a relay popped? sometimes there was a 2 or 3 second delay when I turned them on? or maybe the Lever is buggered? any help please?

Thanks

Spax

*Burn't out relay, just swapped it for my Full beam one until tmw

it's the switch(stalk) that turns the lights on the blink common fault on s/2 m8

Got a new wiper stalk today for Ł61.00!

still hasn;t cured the problem which is very annoying, no main beam at all just sidelights and even dimmer main beam when selected, altho full beam is fine?

Anyone got any other ideas? relay faulty? dodgy earth somewhere?

Thanks

when you say main beam do you mean dipped headlamps,if so the relay or relay holder should be marked with a letter j,try swapping it with a one the same colour if there is one but if not go down to your local scrapyard for one, should only cost a couple of quid(gotta be worth a try)

I think it was a brown one,put your lights on then wiggle the relays and it'll probably work.

No change

Dunno whats wrong? only other thing I can guess is a popped relay, I've checked everything else

Gonna take back the light stork tmw and change it for some relays, theres a relay on the sotrk itself on the steering column could this be buggered or the one in the fusebox? thanks
