:w all::wal l:

Hi i took my engine out of my series 1 for a respray last month everything was running fine all working ok! i got the car back and put the engine back in. it does run but its seriously overfuelling !! as in smoke/ stinks of fuel. its running cosworth management. ive changed the rotor arm, dizzy cap, leads, coil, fuel pump and timing belt. the timing is definately fine !
anyone know what could of caused this?? ive also checked that i have a correct spark and its sparking in the right order! also injectors are pulsing as and when they should!
i've heard that this could be a blocked fuel return, map sensor fault or water temp sensor faulty?? any help would be appreciated ! thanks for reading !

Something is obviously different now to when it was OK - has anything changed?

The Cossie ECU will only know there's a problem with most sensors if they're disconnected, otherwise it'll just do as it's 'told'. Check they're all connected (and connected the right way up! )

Is the fuel return actually blocked? Is the CO pot on the ECU in the same place it was before you took the engine out? Has the fuel pressure regulator been fiddled with?

everything is plugged in correctly (every sensor). the co pot hasn't been touched. haven't touched regulator. a few people have said to me its a fueling problem for sure. i went torque of the devil earlier and chris todd said it could be map sensor or water temp sensor he said the water temp sensors can break with the slightest knock?? ive tried everything i can think of!

That's a new one on me - they're only resistors at the end of the day. If its the same as a Cossie one, check it for the following:

Temp 'C Resistance
-40 100950
-30 53100
-20 29120
-10 16600
0 9750
10 5970
20 3750
25 3000
30 2420
40 1596
50 1080
60 746
70 526
80 377
90 275
100 204
110 153
125 102
