To cut a long story short i bought a 2 litre transit pinto engine off ebay for my sierra to replace my smokey 1.6 litre. Didnt know their was any difference and now im hearing all different stories from everywhere. Some say their the same, some say their low compression, some say different cams, some say its a 1600 head. Has anyone successfully fitted one of these. Will it cost a fortune to put right because if so id be better getting the 2 litre twim cam. I dont need a lot of power but the 1600 couldnt beat a ford ka off the lights ENOUGH SAID.

Depends on the year, you can tell which had lower CR by the carb fitted normally, but if injected all the same, no 2L had a 1600 head.
