Hi guys, I'm in the process of finishing up my ZVH engined MK5 S'cort...I notice on microcat the rs turbo's have an oil cooler set up as standard...is this on all s2's?...Will I need to fit this? Maybe I can just leave it off and go for an aftermarket mini rad style one at a later date? Any feedback appreciated...
Cheers

Hi there, i've fit a zvh to my mk5. It started as a fiesta rs engine with the oil cooler on the block ok. Then the bottom end was worn so I changed it for a 1.8 zetec one but I couldn't get the cooler to fit
sooo it hasn't had one for I guess 5000 miles. Mind you I wouldn't want to thrash it for long so I drive it nice n gentle of course lol. I'll really get a remote one to do the job properly soon though.

you can go with out a oil cooler as i do on all my turbo cvh engines
It was designed for numptys who get straight in the car and start driving.. This way the water warms up quicker than the oil, where the water is going round the outside of the oil it warms the oil up quick.
For people who respect their cars and engines we would warm the car up for 5 mins before we start driving hence the reason for removing it .
hope that helped you out.
