Default Focus Indicator Stalk

Does anyone know if the indicator stalk from a '54 plate Focus would fit straight on to a an '02 plate car? Reason I ask is: my mate's newer car has got the handy soft-touch 3-blink thing for changing lane, but my ST170 doesn't. Can't imagine it would be too difficult?!

Cheers,

Ken

Whilst you may get the soft touch, I can't see the three blink timer being part of the stalk, these are usually contained within a different flasher unit, with extra wires as well.

As Tabetha says, the 3 blink timers is plugged into the rear of the fuse box behind your glove box. If you change that over and change the flasher unit ( the whole hazard switch) and the GEM module it'll work iirc, but its utter ballache to do.

If memory serves me correct the soft touch and blinker timer is all controlled by the BSI unit(siemens unit under dash drivers side) of the car and the stalk only sends data signals to the BSI(CAN BUS). So imho i don't think it will work.

Ahhhh, well not exactly the answer I wanted to hear obviously- but thanks v much for the feedback! I'll concentrate on stopping the water coming in from the pollen filter area to the passenger footwell first...

Cheers,

Ken

If it's any help, it'll be leaking through the gap between the pollen filter cowling and the windscreen, just whip it off and reseal it.

I had this leak from my mk1 mondeo, between poleen housing and bodywork, took off sealed with LOCTITE 5900/5910, not leaked a drop since.
