Default 1993 escos power issue.

Hi guys ive not been a member on here for that long and not to long ago bought a big t escos off here.
Since owning and driving the car ive noticed that when you give it a boot full especially in the earlier gears 1,2,3 it revs up to around 5k 6k then all of a sudden it jolts and no power as if its just cut off. Is this normal as i expect not but im unsure as im still learning about the car. The car is standard.
Thanks for your time. Rob

could be overboosting, but i seem to recal that the boost comes off really quick on the standard ones?
Mine havent been standard for over 8 years now so cant really recal tho

What boost are it running? overboost and what can it hold?

Its totally standard as fare as im aware.
im not sure what boost its running. And i thought it was overboosting as the gauge does go into the red why would it overboost and what would be causing it.

had this problem before with an escort cosworth, car would die at 4k revs or there abouts, and would be fine up to that, it was the lambda sensor that was toast, and without it the ecu wont let the engine go above 4k revs without limiting, changed the sensor and it drove pefect. so i unless its been changed or the wireing to it checked out. i would try it.
