Default S2 EFI Conversion problems!!

Hi, i have fitted EFI to my S2 RST with cosworth management, but the car wouldn't start on a CVH firing order which is 1-3-4-2, so i changed the firing order to 1-2-4-3 which in the Haynes is an OHV order. it started on this firing order but ran really lumpy, miss fireing, and backfiring. Can anyone tell me what is the correct firing order for EFI and what sort of chip is needed to make it run correctly??
Any help very appreciated!!
Cheers!

Be warned, the haynes order is correct, but it starts on the wrong place for an CVH distributor in the Haynes picture. What distributor are you using or do you run a coil pack now?
