battery cable amps

Default battery cable amps

im currently moving me battery to the boot of my mk1 xr2,thing is im renewing all the cable so wondered if 110amp rated cable from vwp would be suitable or would it need to be bigger?,cheers ,chris

Only if you want to melt it the first time you start the car.

Although the altenator will not be using much amperage (probably 55A max), the starter motor will draw a lot more, hence the size of the cable.

315 strand of 0.4mm minimum

The 300amp one on that site.
