Default lowering my mk 6 escort van

i have a mk 6 van i was wondering how the best way to lower it as it has leaf springs on rear

ive lowered my van by putting the leaf springs under the rear beam instead of having them sitting on top of the beam

As said, put the leaf springs underneath the axle. cut the bump stops too!!!!!!

You used to be able to get decambered springs from Leda.

There are still firms around that offer a decambering service on the leaf springs.

i have looked as i have a mk5 and they are twin leaf springs and cannot see how it is possible to fit them underneath as i have done a mk4 but mk5s and 6s are different any help

They will fit underneath, you should get a set of lowering blocks too. The original u-bolts can still be used.

I cant see how you would need lowering blocks aswell as putting it under the axle ! Putting the springs under the will lower it by at least 70 to 80 mm anyway ! Plus the brackets you will need to re locate are the ones for the dampers ! As you need to flip the axle over so you can locate the springs still to the same place ! Thus needing to re locate the brackets ! Hope this helps !

i done my m8s caddy van which is pretty much the same as my connect and cut off spring saddles welded them on directly opposite where they were mounted then fitted springs on opposite side of axle easy afternoons work was thinking of doing connect too only other thing is connects have droplinks on back axle aswell

alrite im from a company in rotherham who make leaf springs if you want i can sort you out by lowering you leaf springs or i can sort you out with new ones lowered to what you want intressed give me a ring on 01709710700 or drop me an email

How much would it be to lower my springs by say 60mm ?

alright fella
you would need to get them to me and it will cost you Ł40.00 each + the carriage to get them back to you which will be around Ł20 any chance of a pic of the springs or tell me how many leaves there are in the springs?

Ok mate well i'll take a pic over the weekend and post it up on here ! How long would it take you to do them as i need the van for work so would need it doing asap really ! Im based near leeds so can drop them off and collect to speed things up !

Hi mate i know it's a couple of years on but did you get round to getting the leaf spring de-cambered or new lowered ones? If so how much ?
