Just a quick question - Did any UK Ford Duratec 2.0 (All-Alloy, not Zetec in drag!) models come with the 6 speed gearbox (Aside from the ST170, ST220 and Diesel Focus/Mondeo models)?

Basically I'm building a MK3 Fiesta with a Turbocharged 2.3 Yank Focus Duratec and would like to hook it up to a 6-spd 'box if possible.

I previously built a 6 speed st170 engined MK3 RS1800 Fez, which had the Getrag MT285 6-speed 'box - but the '170 lump is really a Zetec so the bellhousing is useless for a Mazda bolt-pattern which the duratec has.

I have a "plan B" to use the old faithful MTX75 which is a nice gearbox but would prefer another 6 speed if possible.

Mondeo Duratec SCi with six-speed manual transmission - thats the model you need to look for

 

CheeRS Luke, I'll try and find one on ebay (hopefully some crashed ones will appear before long!) over the coming months surfing the net whenever I manage to get to Camp Bastion!

Just enjoyed having that long 6th so much with the ST170-engined car on long journeys - with double the power and torque it should be a riot!!

 

I tried to install the getrag MT285 on my Duratec HE 2.0 but the bolts on the oil sump where located far different..

 

Yeah, Like Luke said - You need a Mondeo MK3 1.8 or 2.0 "SCi" 6 Speed 'box as that will have a Duratec Bellhousing rather than the ST170 Zetec one, alternatively you could see how much a Mondy SCi bellhousing is from Ford (ŁŁŁ!) and just swap it over...

 

I also believe that the 2.0 mazda3 6speed gearbox will fit straight on..
