Default 3 dr headlights

hi all i have just fitted the smaller older sierra head lights to my 3dr, like some of the norwegian guys touring cars, they fit in fine but when i plug them in the lights do not work, do i have to adapt the wiring to suit these new lights or am i just doing something wrong, none of the lights come on at all, and the dash lights are saying that my high beam is constsntly on, has anyone done this and could help me please, mot is looming, thanks

It is just a case of jiggling the wire positions by the sounds of it, surely the plugs are different ?

If the plugs are the same, the wires may be in a different order!!
Just check the earth is okay as they play up a lot, then it is just out with the digi metre, should not take long.
