Zetec turbo decompression plate?
Can any help me with decomp plates for a zetec turbo project, Whats the best configuration to have the plate and head gasket(s) and whats best plate and gasket s to buy?
its ultimately more reliable if you buy XE or LET pistons and have your block bored to suit... decompression plates are a waste really. it might be worth seeing if somebody like ferriday engineering do a mega thick copper headgasket.

I have used De comp plate no problems at all, but you must have the top of the block skimmed and the face of the head skimmed, or your wasting your time and money, I think most people assume you just wack in a De comp pleat and a new gasket and away you go..... Wrong this will only end in failure......

If you use a gasket each side of the plate it will be fine ,ok its not the best thing in the world i use this method all the time on budget builds and my friends ZT is still going strong after 20k miles so it does work. if you need any plates for ZT click link below my sig.
