Right i purchased an ST170 on thusday just gone and last night a light lit up on the dash. I didnt get the focus manual with the car so the light means nothing to me!!
The light is on the far left of the dash next to the oil temp and pressure guages, it kind of looks like a snow flake but i dont think it is. Firstly it lit up orange, intermittently and this morning it lit up red!!! What does it mean

This is a outside air temperature warning light. orange from 4 to 0`c and red from 0`c and down, it`s an ice warning

Hehe, i have got a Focus into my work for just the same thing, the owner, a nice girl, wouldn`t drive it, and was afraid she had broken something

 

Thats the thing, its such a girlie thing to not know what it is, this is my first ford and i was mortified that i had to ask, im off to hang my head in shame

 

Some of us have filled up a diesel car with petrol, that was 30 minutes after I finished putting a new diesel pump on it, so happens to us all, gotta laugh or you'll cry, god I was a numpty!!

We have at least one customer a week, that filled wrong. A police Focus Tdci yesterday, with petrol on the tank. Last summer, it was a camping car, that filled diesel on the camping water tank, it was diesel all over the floor hehe

 

Don't worry about it mate, I had exactly the same thing a few years ago with a mate of mine. I got a frantic phonecall from a him about 2:30 am after he just bought a cossie several days earlier saying that this red light had come on. Can be a bit alarming if you don't know what it is Lol, atleast you checked!

 

Brilliant that they stuck it right next to the oil temp and pressure guages, i thought "oh sh*t" if it's oil related im in BIG trouble.
Just bidding for a Focus owners manual on Fleabay now to save my future dignity.

 

You should get a manual free from a Ford dealer, or Ford Motor England. I got the last two Escort Cosworth manuals from Ford Motor Norway, and we got other ones in my work fore free
