ARP olt problem

Default ARP olt problem

just bought some arp rod bolts for a 2.0l black top engine that im building into a zetec turbo they don't fit even though they are for these does anyone know why???

there from a focus... there 9mm... the problem is they go in the first half of the of the first half of bearing(if that makes since)but then the thread gets stuck plus i also tried to screw it in the second part of the rod but the thread is too big...

if you have a silver top zetec the bolts are only 8mm

As above wrong mm thread i had this oonce before but matt lewis sorted me out swapped em for the other set if you need to buy another set hes the man to get in touch with.

some conrods actually need to have the holes remed out to suit ARP rod bolts

Drop them off at any machine shop and it should only cost buttons to have it done.

Basically reaming is a process which slightly enlarges a pre-existing hole to a tightly toleranced diameter.

simple amswer for you take one of the original bolts and measure it with a pair of callipers and see what size it is then measure the arp, as for reaming ive built loads of theses zetec's from silver top, black top, st170 internals and none have ever needed reaming.

Just had this problem, 9mm ones will be going on ebay and I ve just ordereda 8mm set

iirc it tells you about the possibility of the caps needing reaming in the burton catalogue.
