I Having A Problem With A 4x4 Cosworth Basically Was A Non Runner, I Have
Checked And Rectified Spark At Plugs, Swapped Map Sensor, Swapped Crank Sensor And Tried Another Fuel Pressure Regulator
I Managed To Get It Started But There Is Serious Over Fuelling Black Smoke.
When I Un-plug The Injectors & Start The Engine It Runs Good For 2-3 Secs
So Tried Injectors I Know Were Just Serviced And Ecu For Same But No Difference. If I Reduce Fuel Pressure Regulator Pressure To Below 1 Bar It Runs And Idles Much Better But Still Over Fuelling (black Smoke)
Any Suggestions Please
P.S. I HAVE RENEWED COOLANT SENSOR & CHECKED WIRING AND THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE

first thing put fuel pressure back to the correct setting.then change ecu water temp sensor,( also known to give over fueling problems) located under inlet manafold on the l/h side of the head at the back. it has a big connetor unlike the gauge sensor which is close by. see if this helps
