Default escort mk4 heaters grrrrrr!!!!!

Hi all i wonder if anyone can help right -

bought 1 of my old mk4 escorts back off my mate that i only drove in the summer so didnt use the blowers, now i have bought it back and the weather is shall we call it moderate i cant get the heaters to blow really warm?? so -

1st - i changed the thermostat as it was reading cold most of the time

2nd - flushed out the radiator and coolding sytem to get rid of blockages and refilled with antifreeze and bled the system ( put coolant in leave cap off and leave running to allow air bubbles to escape)

but now it still only blows very slightly warm when im doing around 50mph or got a good run of gentle speed going, only other thing i can think of is the heater matrix?? are these a bastard to do on escorts never done 1 before???

any help more than foookin appreciated!!

Try flushing the matrix out 1st.
if not then i believe it can be a bitch of a job, as far as i know it can be done with out removing the dash.
Good luck tho

I would first look to see if the bowden has come off, by the way always leave the cap, on even after filling as this creates a vacuum that helps to draw air out better.
