I did this to my sierra when fitting a new door. While adjusting the height ofthe door I slammed it and snapped the plastic plate in the catch area. It then wouldnt shut and when I looked I found I had snapped part off.

I had a spare door so took the catch mechanism out and put that in and didnt slam it so hard until the height was right after! Was a bit fidly to switch but cured the problem.

Hope it helps

Cheers
