Default Shaking XR4X4

Got a 4x4 before christmas and have just put it on the road after having to do a couple of jobs on it. Now I've found it's got a shake problem. When driving at about 60 and the slowing down (not hard) the car shakes really bad, also I've heard a slite knocking when pulling away or when going slowly round a corner. Just had it in to a garage today and they could not find anything the matter but said it could be a problem with the abs. Anybody any ideas

Depends on the nature of the shaking really, this time last year I had a bolt snap in the prop donut which caused the prop to resonate and shake the whole car as you got above 60mph.

Had it out in the ice today and the wheels just lock up so the abs must be faulty, anybody know what the problem might be, probably expensive knowing my luck. I suspect the knocking noise I can here is maybe a knackered bush cause by the shaking due to the faulty abs

what do you mean by slowing down? do you mean braking? if so, it's probably worn bushes (anti-roll bar to tca). see here for a guide on how to replace them:

the abs is nothing to do with it. if it locks up straight away in the snow without any pedal pulsing, it's not working, but it can't cause 'shaking'

Yeah it shakes when braking, sounds like I need to sort it out with a set of poly bushes then,

Cheers

shaking under breaking on my sierra was the warped disks. It also shook when driving at about 60mph and turned out to be the tracking was well out and had a bald tyre on the ns front. Got both sorted and is fine now.

Cheers
