Default Gearbox whine

Does anyone know if there is oil that will stop noisey gear boxes. First gear in my cossie whines a bit. I was just wondering if you can buy anything to quieten them down. Or is it new gear box time.

Greased Lightning, for manuals used in my T5 box with GEAR oil, and in a rover r380 manual box with no problems.

Will it be ok for the 4x4 gearbox is it the name of the box mt75. Also what oil does it take. Will 75/90 be any good or do you have to use proper old for the gearbox.

I was in halfords today and i was looking though the gearbox oil list which was hanging up. It said in there to use a castrol oil. So i looked on the back of the castrol oil bottle and its oil grade is 75/90. I work in a garage so i might as well pinch some oil from work for my car. The oil i use at work is 75/90 fully sythetic.
