carbs
i'm assuming you've got a 1.1 kent/X-flow/valencia engine in a Fiesta, personally speaking I tried it with my MK1 foosty it didn't work that well.It took me for ever to find a manifold that would take the carb and bolt to the head. The manifold I got with the carb was longer and the ports did match.I eventually got one off a mate but I can't remember what it was off-this was 14 years ago.It ran just about at low revs but once you opened up the other choke she just bogged out - The week after I put it on I bought an XR2 engine strapped on a 1300 4spd g/box and threw that into it.Now that did work.See if you put on a carb with a barrel too big you can actually slow down the incomig airflow because it needs the venturi-that piece that narrows down about halfway down the barrel-because kind of like when you squeeze the end of a hose the only way to get the same volume of airflow through a narrower space is for the airflow to speed up this also causes an area of low pressure and this pressure differential draws the fuel through your jets - you probably know all this anyway but it can't hurt.I won't tell you not to do it because the only way I learned was to go ahead and try it but maybe you should go for the Webber 32DFT off of a MKI 1300 Fiesta it has slightly narrower barrels and would come more suitably jetted. Also it can only help if you were to put on a free flowing exhaust manifold and system afterall if you're trying to cram more in you going to want to get it out quicker aswell.CHECK to see if you're carb has a fuel return back to you're fuel tank because you're 1300,XR2 carbs do have a return.I replaced a VV carb with a twin choke DGAV on my 1600 Capri the VV had no return the DGAV did now I knew it was highly dodgy blocking off the return but I had nothing to sort it with and thought fuck it I'll risk it.Well the car lasted an hour before I set the thing on fire and it burnt to a twisted heap so DO check that one out cause I'm telling you you won't get away with it.If you find you have no inlet at your fuel tank you could maybe get away with taking the return pipe back to a t-piece in the main fuel line a good bit away from the carb that way you should aviod fuel back up from the carb but it's not an ideal solution the best thing would be to replace the tank with one that has a return connection.Anyway sorry for going on and I hope I helped ya a wee bit Cheers BB
