right i have a mk4 escort 1.4 gl 4 door, the heaters will never blow hot they will only blow luke warm but not that well, but before people say matrix the temperature gauge in the car barely rises at all i travelled 25 miles to reddicth by me the other night doing 95mph on the motorway at 1 point (to try and warm engine up) but to no success? sticking thermostat perhaps?? any help?? cheers

deffo start at stat being stuck wide open or missing if you haven't seen it yet. next i'd stick a hose pipe into one of the two pipes that goes to the matrix in the engine bay and give a good blast through as this was my problem gunk in matrix and water was not circulating round it

 

You might want to try checking the water level, i had a car that leaked water and the heater was the first thing to go.

 

i would say 100% stat mine was the same the other week and i found out there was no stat in there. it's stuck open or it's not in there if the gauge doesn't move much

 

i had a punto turbo and when you were driving the heater was always lukewarm but when you parked the temp went back up n the heater got warm again, was bloody annoing! spose thats fiat for ya
