Default ecu/pats problem

hi there

my car was working just fine, i went out and i came back to start it however it wouldnt start. I had no spark but this was weird as i had only just driven it

I noticed that the red light under my clock did not illuminate when i turned the key so i believed the problem to be something to do with the immobiliser or something.

Anyway, got a diagnostic machine put on it and the ecu came back with loads of codes on it, and also the secuirty system? So im guessing i need a new ecu and pats?

Its a P reg 1.8 si so any advice on how to go about this would be greatful, i could do without spending money on changing keys etc though

Try wiping the key with a damp cloth first, as static build up can do this, only had it once on a mondeo but a free thing to try.
