Default P100, what are they like? and what problems do they have?

Im going to be looking at a few once my car is finally gone, and im just wondering if they have any hidden surprises?

Basicly, any info/help would be appracitated, also anyone had an insurance quote one at 18 with 1 years NCB?
Oh and i shall be looking at the sierra p100, seems they look better.

Thanks Carl.

rust mate thats one suprise, get a 1.8td version they go pretty well. the english ones rot pretty well specially the bed of the truck. might struggle to get insurance for the fact that people class them as a pickup truck not a car. so a speciallist insurance broker would be recomended.
rear shocks tend to leak and replacements arnt easy to find. ive got a polish one with 132k on the clock and no rust yay. hth
cheers mark.

Ahh thanks dude, seen a few nice ones, but there all over 150+ mile away.

Im actually after a diesel aswell, was wondering what stud pattern are they? as ive noticed there 5 stud, so not sure what wheels will fit them?

I took a guess at the rust, after all it is a ford.
Do you have any pictures of yours?
Care to sell it ?

there all 5 stud mate, apart from ones that have been converted using xr4x4 stuff and capri rear axles. not many wheels do fit because they are transit wheels technically .

the really early ones had a long bonnet and no grill and the later ones like mine have a short bonnet and a grill, so you need one like mine (short bonnet) think ill leave mine as is though, good luck with the search mate
