S2 RST and some problems.. please check :)
Hello again from Finland!
I just did bought S2 radiant red 89 original rst from Germany.
I got it home today.
I have somewhere fuel leak, the fuel smell come pretty sure under the bonnet. I tried to check the whole injection system and pipes for leaks but i cant find one. What do you think can the injectors leak? The car needs some time starting before it will start, and i did smell the car from the gas tank under the car and i think there was no leak, the smell comes from the enginebay and it was pretty strong near the injection unit (the fuel distributor or what is the word..)
I also have many more problems and things to ask but i think we should start with this one.

I now have a garage and some intrest about rs turbo, i once owned highly tuned s2 rst (200hv with programmable efi) when i was younger.
I have my primary car BMW and this escort is just hobby
And the car is from the 80´s, problems are just normal..
But if you would like to tell how much tolerance is accepted in the turbocharger axle, i notice there is little bit of "clap" or what you say?
Then one problem is the fuel computer wont work, there is not power at all.. any ideas where start to find the problem?

Probably a fooked computer i dont think ive ever seen one that works properly anyway your best bet is to look for a replacement on ebay but go through all fusses first to make sure there all ok,as for the play in the turbo shaft you will have a small amount of play anyway as they float on oil but if it moves like a rubber pencil its fooked.hope this helps ya fella

What kind of problem that is the car starts only 3 cylinder when it is cold.
I also think the car runs rich at idle because the exhaust smells rich.
When it is warm no problem and running 4 cylinder ok.
Would it be leaking injectors?
And where i can find the ke-jet fuel "collector" ?
