why dose a cossie engine always melt number two piston,
is it the design of the inlet manifold or what.


anybody got any idears

It's number 3 that is the common melted piston due to the design of the plenum elbow....

Then number 2....

as you say its allways two or three. mine just did number two. and was told feul pump was two blame.

i would get the injectors flow tested before running it again as well. fuel supply problems of one type or another can cause this failure, either thepump or the injector not flowing enough fuel to match the requirement from the air mass.

number 3 tends to get slightly more air than the others, so fit the injector that flows the most to that cylinder so that when the average AFR is checked with a lambda sensor you have minimised the possibility of no. 3 running leaner (and hence hotter) than the rest.

Hello guys.

How far do you go before replacing OE fuelpump.
People here in Sweden burns piston like a barbecue party

My idea was that fuelpump wear was cause of concern here.

Its a interesting subject

for the escos, use the walbro 255l/h fuel pump, exact swap for the original one and only around 100 sheets
