Zetec Turbo Electrical Light Problem Urgent for M.O.T
Gday all right sorting out my zetec turbo for it's M.O.T at the start of next week but have been checking everything over to make sure all ok but came accross a problem with the lights.i have wrote down everything that works and that doesnt:
Indicators
Drivers side - rear, side and front all work
Passenger side - rear does not work, side and front do but they are very quick and also quite dim at the front
Lights ( Low beam)
Drivers side - Front and Rear working
Passenger side - front and Rear not working
Lights (Medium Beam)
Drivers side- Front and rear lights work
Passenger side - Front work but rear doesnt
Lights (Full Beam)
Drivers Side - Front and rear working
Passenger side - Front Works but Rear Doesnt
Brake lights
Drivers Side - Works
Passenger side - Doesnt work
Alarm & Hazards
All Indicator lights front left & right and rear drivers side work but not passenger side rear and is the same as when the hazards are on all works except passenger side rear.
As you can see the passenger side rear light is not working at all ive tried my old lexarse lights on there and no joy.also the lights i have on the rear are LED Afterburners from quadconversions.com but they are wired up correctly as they use to work with no problems.
Ive tried fuses,re-earthed rear lights and new bulbs but still the same.
So anyone any ideas

have you used a multimeter to determine whether or not there is power at the appropriate pin in the light cluster. if yes then you need to use multimeter to check if you have a earth where the bulb actually goes, if no power then try running a new temporary wire from relay to lights and see what happens then

What engine in the car is irrelevant. What the car actually is would be more helpfull as the lights have nothing to do with the engine or management at all.
If it's an Escort, try the contacts at the rear light clusters as they used to give problems. Also check the earths as they used to give a lot of problems too. Side lights on one side is usually a power supply issue so if the fuses are ok, check that there is power to the fuse.

Right. The fiesta used to have issues with wires corroding so check them near the light clusters. Also check the earths are ok as they can also cause issues.
The other issue that is common is the fuse box. If you have no power on the side light fuse (or even any other fuse), you will probably need a new fuse box unless you can find someone to strip it and solder up the joints.
