Default Cosworth cylinder head differences.

Hi there. i know there was a post before about this but spent ages tryin to find it with no luck.

Im just wondering what the difference is between the 3door, 2wd, 4x4 and rs500 cylinder heads are..

The head i have has got lugs for the turbo damper and its got 3 holes for the thermostat housing.

any info really appreciated. Thanks.

Hi ya mate..

As far as i know the 2wd head as a two bolted thermostat and yeah 4x4 as a 3 bolted one.. i dont think there much differents apart from that as i had a f reg 2wd saff with a 4x4 200 block runing a 2wd head , a 4x4 exhaust mainifold and turbo which i belive gave more bhp...

Default head

A 2wd can have 3 studs on the thermostat if is a later one. A 4wd has no lugs and an oil feed out to the Turbo about half way along.

Hi,
Also if fitting 2wd, head to 4/4 block, or 4/4 to 2wd, block you have a different comp/ratio.
