xr2i fuel problem
hello i'm in need of some help, ive been trying to get information on my xr2i for the past 5 months hitting brick walls everytime
anyways heres how it goes i fill up about half a tank of petrol and it will last about 2 days doing about 40 miles now i don't know about you guys but that is like insanely stupid lol, i was then told that xr2i were recalled back in there days not entirely sure why though but i think it was something to do with idling, i have the model where the idle air control valve goes into the back of the airbox but unfortunately i dont have the airbox and hit a brick wall everytime trying to locate one can anyone please help me because its stress me out and my wallet on petrol i can supply as much information as possible i kind of know a bit about motors to a certain degree kind regards

Ok you have 3 options here fella
1, Get a new airbox
2, Get a new pipe that bolts to the rocker cover and goes to the throttle body you will need one with the outlet for the iscv to attatch to
3, Get hold of the top half of the inlet for a 2i thats already got the iscv on the side of the inlet manifold, Hope that helps fella

well i know its not a fuel leak. i fill up with £15 worth which comes up on the gauge at half a tank. i have just taken some pictures so it makes it easy understanding.
The yellow bit is a piece of sponge which is cable tied round the idle air control valve

and this is the inlet manifold that is on my car

what would you recommend me doing changing the complete inlet manifold if so where or does anyone have the inlet manifold and an airbox thanks for your help greatly appreciated.

right i've changed the inlet manifold to the one with the idle speed controller mounted on the side of the inlet manifold put all new gaskets and everythink put the original airbox on and now i'm hitting problems with it basically it won't start if the engine goes slightly cold unless i turn it over whilst hitting the gas pedal can anyone please, plus when i do get it to idle without me pushing the accelerator pedal its really chuggy but its idling at about 700 which i'm told thats what it should be can anyone please help kind regards
