Default Turbo advice

I am looking for a bit of advice on what turbo to use on my cossie engine. I am looking for only 300bhp but want it very driveable and bulletproof and with as little lag as possible.

I have been told a gt28rs would be the best but just wondering if there were any other opions.

How deep is your wallet ?
A roller bearing turbo will cut down lag a lot, as well as your finances!!
A T3 is more than capable of this power, use with a .48 housing, and a decent chip/tune.
If you really want to go a lot less lag the better way is to de shroud the inlet valve throats, NOT the ports which must be the same size as std.
I have a T34 and it boost from 1500rpm 142ft lb, but is 330 ft lb at 3000 rpm all the way till 6500rpm.
The best mod I ever had done for £275.
My old T3 boosted well with 150 lb ft at 2200rpm, 240lbft at 3000rpm and 270 at 4500.
This was stage one, where it later did 280 solid bhp.
If you are really concerened you could use anti lag ?

im not worried about spending the extra on a roller bearing turbo as im building it into a mk2 escort and i want it to be real driveable.

But if i done that head work along with gt28rs that would be great. Who done the work for ya

Without being funny it is going to be a hell of a handful in a mk2 escort without trick suspension as well.
I picked my lad up from school today, and had spin at about 1/4 throttle in third gear, at 1500rpm, it's nearly F*****G unuseable in the wet, scares the s**t out of me, my god the pick up lack of lag in the dry has got to be experienced though!!
Anyway the headwork was done by a man called DARREN, at Damico, which is at EAST HARLING in Norfolk, tel 01953 717784.

T28 if you only want 300, like what the rouse sapphires had...

I had one on mine and made 295bhp and minimal lag..
