Series 1 RS Turbo Starting problems
Hi folks my car has been laid up for a while and I got the starter done up as it was sticking. The problem now is the cars starts ok when cold but as soon as it warms up a bit it wont start, its turns over with a heavy sound then the starter starts making noise like the bendix is not engaging the flywheel properly. Once cold everything is once again fine?

I tend to have the same problem. There are a number of things that you can do.
1) heat shield the starter motor to try and reduce the temps.
2) put an additonal switched line to the starter solenoid from the battery.
Apart from that there aint much!

Took the starter out to be redone and discovered the guy hadnt tightened the two bolts holding the starter together, tightened them up and away she went.
