Default Alloy Wheel Sizing Issue

Hey all,

I did a quick search for the same question as mine, and couldn't find anything (could've been because I was keen to get posting, but did try, honest! ) and basically need a little help.

On my Fiesta 1.25 Zetec, I'm looking for some new alloys. Now, the ones that are on there now are 14 inch. I'm thinking along the lines of 15 or 16 inch, but not sure which. I would like a size that would fill the arches but not turn the car into a monster truck (ie. raise ground clearance and need messing around with the sus. height), but I also don't want to compromise acceleration, handling etc.

So, out of 15 and 16, which size would be best for my needs? Also, will I need various things tweaking such as suspension, tracking or whatever with new alloys, speedo adjustment as the wheels are bigger, and how badly is my acceleration/general performance likely to be affected with bigger wheels?

I really appreciate any help.
