Default problem with abs

i got a escort s2 rs. its was factory standard with abs. and ive now found out after having it for few months tht my mot failer due to the previous owner taking half the system off. why would someone do that. coz u got to hav abs illuminating when you turn key, but mine aint doin that, half the wires have been fukin cut so my car wont pass

This is a bit of a nightmare - a lot of people remove it because they reckon it cuts in too early.

You might find that another MOT station would let it through, although it will now be logged on the MOT computer as failing due to having no ABS. The parts to put it back on shouldn't be too hard to find.

The other thing you have to be careful of is that if you skid and have an accident and the insurance company finds the abs that could have prevented it has been removed they could refuse to pay out...

Simple fix the two wires that are in the yellow plug for the ABS pumps just join the wires together and hey presto the lamp will illuminate as it should.
