TD conv Escort van, how to wire the 2 pump advance wires?
Hi folks, i have bought an Escort van which was a non-Turbo. The previous owner has put a Escort Turbo diesel engine in but the pump timing advance unit on the front of the pump isnt wired up. This causes bad tick-over and heavy smoking!
I have gave the unit (2 wires) an earth and 12v live and it ticks over nice and doesnt smoke on tick-over but does when revved up.
I need to know how this has to be wired, permanent earth with ignition live running through the (unused) coolant sensor to provide a changing resistance as it warms? Just a guess..
Sure one of you guy's will know!
Thanks.
