Default 3 bar map sensors

iv heard that wen these f**k up overfuelling can happen on an otherwise spot on engine. Why is this? are they prone to failing? whats inside them and can u test them cos its another 95 quid if its a case of trying new bits to see if that solves the problem.

normally when these pack up ,the car will run rich at tickover. Try pulling the vac pipe off at tickover , if the engine starts to run rich then in my experience they are ok, i dont have the pin data handy but i can sort it out if you want it

They can yes.
The map sensor tells the ecu how much fuel to put in, in basic terms. A dead sensor usually fuells for about 1psi, even at idle, so teh car tends to run ok, as it comes on boost, but nowhere else.

I can do you one for £75 delivered

The 3bar part number is APS/05/01 or SPA/05/01 if a very new one.

Yes mate, if its fuelling for 1psi and you run 25 the engine will turn into something resembling a cadburys flake in an oven
