2wd sapph advice
I'm gonna start giving my 2wd sapphire a real good clean and would like a few pointers on a couple of bits and pieces just to make sure I get it all right and don't cause any damage
1. Can anyone explain or provide pics where I can safely jack up the front and back end of the car with a trolley jack and where to place the axle stands.
2. How do you remove the front and rear bumpers as I have the side clips on the rear and the ones on the front but a tad unsure on where the rest of the bolts are.
Cheers
Ben

If ya have or can borrow an owners user manuel it shows ya where ya can jack up. If not at the back ya can jack on the diff but use a bit of wood on top of the jack to stop it cutting in, I use a bit of wood at all times anyway. The axle stands can go at the front of the wishbone mount just fwd of the wheel about 10 ins in you will see like a thick triangle type thing. Front ya can jack in mid of the crossmember, put stands under the double skinned part of the chassis rails.
Bumpers there is some bolts thro the body about 12 ins off centre line you will see them if you look between rad and front, rear are in the boot i think.

thanks mate much appreciated
the places you describe to put the stands, from looking under tha car these are the points at which the original car jack goes into the chassis?
also the front bumper fixing points from what you describe and after looking under the car I can see two star screws sitting behind the horns and these can be reached via a small hole in the bumper, are these the correct ones?
sorry for all the questions just want to make sure I get it all right

Orig jack point at the back yes, there is like a thick triangle type bit.
Front dont jack or put stands on orig jacking area as it looks strong but it will crush then put a bulge in the floor pan. Look for the main chassis rail 1 each side about 2inch wide and runs right along lenth of car, at the front its double skinned.
Not 100% on bumper so ill check manuel later and get back to ya.

steve,
thanks for the reply, I now see the chassis rails and will put the stands in the right place.
With regards to the bumper, I have managed to get this off it was only held on with one bolt at each side, now whether there is supposed to be a couple of bolts at the front I am unsure.
Cheers
