Got a little niggly problem with the cossie, when i pull away and keep the revs at 2k i get a tappity noise from the head i think its a lifter ?, when the engine is under load it doesnt do it as bad if at all do you guys think its just a noisy lifter ?

 

I get a rattle when i hold the revs at 3500
only hapens at this speed no other rpm??

sounds like the same prob as me mate ....i was told it was a lifter!

would like some more light on this to.

 

yeah exactly the same mate, just mine does it a 2-2.5k then goes away soon as you plant the throttle and put load on the engine

 

sounds like lifters. are you sure it just goes because a combination of the engine noise and the spped the lifters are now moving over power the original tapping sound?

so fookin annoying hearing a rattle tho

 

seriously, i did mention the lifter treatment, try it, it does work, and its better also cheaper than replacing lifters!
