Default Car Will Not Start?...

Hello

I have a Fiesta Zetec 1.25 W Reg.
Came to start the car today and put the key into the ignition and turned the key and the car just makes a fast ticking sound and will not start. I used it last week so the battery shouldn't be flat but when i lock the car the motors which lock the door sound like they have hardly got any power.
Do you think it could be a flat battery or Starter Motor?

Yep sounds like the battery. My focus did this, and I thought that water had got in the fuse box or something because of the electrical ticking, a quick call to my local ford garage confirmed it was the batt.
Even though the lights, wipers and radio all still worked, they said, if the battery goes under a certain level, the car will not start up.

Sounds just like the problem I had. I don't know if the fiestas will do it but on the focuses or foci when you start the ignition the RMP and odometer needles will go up to their maximum and then back down. I would expect that it may not happen on yours as I don't think fiesta instrument clusters are quite as digitalised as the focuses.

Yeh i would say battery to. If you can get hold of a multimeter you could check it with that. The multimeter will tell you how much voltage is in the battery.

Thanks for the replies guys! It turned out it was the battery as i charged it and now it is fine....
However i drove the car last night only to find that the Heated Rear Window and Main Blowers are not working. The blowers work but do not blow out warm air. The temprature gauge is possitioned in the middle which shows that it is fine. I will check the fuse board when i have finished university later on today as i think it could be a fuse.

Glad to hear it was the battery and its all sorted.
My first suspicion with the heaters would be the fuse too. I hope that is what it is.
Good luck!
