Default transit tdci

can any one tell me how to bleed the fuel system on a ford transit 51 plate 2.4 tdci, just fitted a new engine and it wont start have checked the system for faults using a snap on scanner i think the fuel isnt getting to the injectors, thanks dave

are you using the original fuel pump??? the ecu/ diesel pump need to be synchronised other wise it doesn't work, ford wants Ł110+vat for the privalige.............

these are now very complex pieces of kit. not only does the ecu need linking to the PATS immobiliser, but things like the injectors need matching up to the ecu and all sorts

I know that on the focus's and anything with that engine that there is like an 11 digit number that has to be programmed to the ecu. But i dont think that it is the same for the transit. As for bleeding them they are a nightmare. You have to crack all four pipes at the injectors and crank it over but they are very stubborn. I know its naughty but at work if we get one that wont go we use easy start.

Also make sure that the fuel filter is full. Just take the filter off and fill it with diesel.

Although as above i do think that the fuel pump has to be programmed to the ecu and so on.

hi dave do you have your old engine if so you can remove the ecu from the pump and put it on the engine you bought then you dont have to program the pump or you have to now get the pump programed to the ecu
