oil in my amal valve
I gather this aint a good thing!
got a bit in my metering head at the bottom too.
Any ideas or should I start saving for a new turbo?

not running standard breather system. Breather from metering unit is blocked up and the pipe from my pro alloy breather goes ny the gearbox!
Ohh dear, guess my turbo has gone then or my turbo oil seals as the oil can only be coming from the compressor side.

thats not the best grade of oil you are using.......
And even if theres no play in the turbo doesn't necessarily rule out the seals being gone.

i ran my fez rs on 10/40 semi simple all day long and it loved it. I used to get the ford xr oil cheap as chips. Funny you say you are getting oil in there. Im doing a zvh that has oil into the pipe to the pipe that goes to the ecu and the exhaust is fuel of like tar which is the burnt oil in the pipe. Its had a new turbo just waiting to see if it stops filling up.

turbo has some play up and down left and right, found some oil in the metering head. Got all the engine apart and trying to do the rings head gasket and shit like that. it dont help when Burton Power send you the wrong rings!!!
Still have got no further with my failure of no. 3 spark plug. I have found a lot of carbon on the exhaust valve.
Any ideas!

might be worth grinding the valves in then chap to make sure that you are getting a good seal. as for number 3 plug, start with the basics try the leads as really you should replace if you are doing a engine rebuild.

Oil by the spec sheet should be 0w40 fully synthetic really.......obviously doing a full rebuild you wana bung some cheap and nasty mineral oil or similar in there for the initial run in though, but once fully run in it needs to be as above really.
So whats gone wrong to warrant this rebuild? Im guessing it was running lean and went bang?

no not been running lean, it was over fuelling when set up by a tuner in wolverhampton (not naming names) the black fuel ECU was not getting power and the fuelling was way out on no and part load. so it glazed the bores and shot the rings.
anyway its done some serious mileage in the last 18 months, around 9,000 miles so I though it deserved a treat.

Sounds like a good tuner
I wouldnt class 9000 miles as serious mileage, quite the opposite in fact, but fair enough if you're happy to do the work

yeah work now done and the car is so much more responsive off boost. Much better compression and the car is better.
Had a bit of a problem with idleing, but I have traced that to a CO at idle problem at the moment.
Got it booked in to a local place to check the fuelling on sat, as I dont know how good my AFR guage is and I want to be safe.
