CAN A STANDARD ECU WORK? DONT THINK SO BUT SOMEONE TOLD ME IT SHOULD WORK WITH THAT I THOUGHT THE CHIP HAD TO MATCH THE INJECTORS? PLEASE HELP
THANKS

20K+ Super Poster.
The chip sets these parameters, using input from sensors, it is possible the ecu is buggered or someone who does not know what they are doing has chipped it/written software.
This is of course assuming all else is correct, ie mechanically all settings etc.
If the chip is correct for a fully functioning ecu it will be fine.
The chip does indeed have to match the injectors fuel rate, as these are a known quantity when reprogramming the chip.
There is no way on earth it will work with a std chip for example.
If someone is saying it should all work with a std chip then they really are a tool of the highest order.
Determine what ECU you have, should be L1 on a 3 door, lugs with a large screw either side holding it in, and a yellow co screw ?, then phone MSD etc and tell them what spec you have, they will then write a chip that is close enough to use it until you get it mapped which you WILL need for this spec.
Each ecu cannot interchange it's chip so you must know the ecu type before ordering.
