poor running focus
hi all
i keep breaking down in the focus it feels like fuel starvation i keep changing the fuel filter and there black stuff in the petrol and it will drive fine too i boot it and it starts all off again i broke down 3 times on the way to this morning

Has it just started to do this ?
Have you changed the fuel filter recently ?, if not that would be worth a go, does it splutter to a halt and then start right away or ?

to the above yes i have changed the fuel filter then i drove it home from work i hit the rev limiter and it started again my mate said it could be a ecu fault

Almost defo not a ecu fault, this may sound odd but look for corona discharge on the plugs, as I have known this before on the zetecs especially the early ones.
Are you using BOSCH plugs by any chance, if you are bin them.

i was told to change the water temp sensor as its a comman fault with focus so ones on order £14.10+vat at that price its worth a try just changed the plugs one month ago with ngks but had the motorcraft ones b4 and was the same.
